Workday Engagement Manager / Project Manager - HCM/Financials, EMEA - German and English Speaking

About the Team
Workday Engagement Managers are key players in the team that help frame the solution delivery, partnering with our consultants to execute and manage the delivery plan and ultimately help our customers achieve rapid time to value. We are responsible for managing a portfolio of project engagements, implementation plans, status reporting, issue & risk management and developing meaningful relationships representing Workday to our customers.
About the Role
As an Engagement Manager at Workday you are more than just a Project Manager, you are a trusted advisor to our customers - you’ll engage, guide and ensure success in their implementation of Workday’s leading cloud enterprise software products for our Medium Enterprise customers.
You will empower and drive our customers' implementations by shaping the development of several key project deliverables (charter, project/staffing plans, issue logs, etc.) and work with the Customer Project Manager to resolve issues that stand in the way of project success. You will also be responsible for managing the agreed budget and delivering the project successfully and profitably.
What you’ll be doing
Share your experience and provide oversight over other projects and their success within the framework of our Delivery Assurance quality control
Project manage Workday product implementations
Participate in the sales cycle when requested to gather requirements, formulate delivery approach and develop a proposal/SOW
Provide guidance and mentoring to Professional Services resources working on your implementations
Ensure projects are properly planned and staffed
Collaborate with the customer project manager to identify/resolve all issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframes
Work with Workday Partners to ensure project compliance
Present at Executive Steering Committee meetings
Be a liaison for Professional Services when interacting with sales and/or business development
Identify opportunities to position other service offerings
Ensure the client can serve as a reference upon completing their implementation
Assist in the transition of the customer from Professional Services to Product Support
Ensure the project is delivered within the budget outlined in the SOW
What you will achieve in your first 12 months:
You’ll be an expert in Workday's Implementation Methodology and use it on all engagements
Demonstrate competency in managing the Workday HCM, Financials, and/or Planning product suite implementations
Full project P+L ownership
About You
Demonstrable experience project managing Medium to Large HCM/Financials/ERP implementations for multinational organisations
Experience implementing Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, ADP, Ultimate, Lawson, SuccessFactors, Cognos, TM1, Hyperion, Anaplan, OneStream or a similar application.
Working knowledge with at least one of the following business areas: Human Resources, Benefits, Payroll, General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Services Procurement, Planning (EPM), or similar business experience.
Experience in project managing financial implementations or knowledge of financial business processes and financial reporting is desirable
Experience of managing 3rd parties in a project
Previous service sales experience a plus. Successful candidates have a balance of functional (business) and technical experience
Fluency in German and English is essential, further language skills are a plus
