In Spain, Thales Sistemas is specialized in Command and Control systems, Tactical Communications and Modeling and Simulation addressing solutions in the domain of Defense and Security. Thales is the Spanish leader in tactical Land CIS (Communication and Information Systems) covering all the product life cycle (design, development, production, ILS). Based in Leganés, Thales Sistemas employs a highly specialized workforce of more than 100 people, most of them engineers that participate in the following activities:

  • Communications and Information Systems (CIS) to support Command function and Decision Making:
  • Embedded electronics for military aircraft
  • Tactical Communications
  • Radio Navigation Aids for air traffic

We’re currently looking for an engineer of adaptive, perfective, corrective and preventive maintenance of hardware and software of Command and Control Systems for the Spanish Army. You will work directly with our clients, based on El Pardo - Madrid.

What will you do?

You will participate in a dedicated team working in customer premises, mainly focused in:

  • Maintaining C2 SW systems
  • Updating SW & HW in different customer systems.
  • Preparing the means and documentation necessary to deploy C2 systems within customer nodes, benefiting of automatized tasks, and supporting the stakeholders in the process
  • Solving any incidence that may occur in deployment
  • Assuring that all SW is cyphered & secured

To do this, you should have experience in…

  • Administration of Microsoft Active Directory environments, including configuration of users, groups, permissions and security policies.
  • Application of the STIC guides of the National Cryptological Center (CCN).
  • RAID planning and configuration in servers and disk cabinets.
  • Client-server services implementation, including server configuration and maintenance, application integration, and database management to ensure service availability and performance
  • Hardware and software licensing. Use of KMS tools and VAMT Console. Key generators.
  • Implementation and configuration of Windows Deployment Services to deploy and update operating systems in bulk.
  • Disk encryption. Experience with Microsoft Bitlocker and Sophos SafeGuard.
  • PowerShell.
  • Configuration of routers and switches for the creation of circuits and VLANs in a wide area network (WAN) to improve connectivity and network efficiency.
  • Working in an international environment (English/Spanish).

Any of the following will be valued:

  • Hands-on experience configuring and using Acronis products for data backup and recovery, including most notably Acronis Cyber Backup and Acronis True Image.
  • Implementation and management of data backup and recovery solutions using Veritas BackUp Exec and Windows Backup.
  • Experience configuring storage arrays, including installation, configuration, and administration of data storage systems. Specifically the range of HPE products, such as StoreOnce or MSA equipment.
  • Updating systems at the hardware, software and firmware level. Assembly and use of a Windows WSUS server.
  • Light notions in Cloud computing environments (AWS).
  • Application of Agile frameworks in work groups (PSM I and PSM II Certification). Use of tools applied to Agile and Scrum.
