Job Description

Software Engineers to join IKEA in Madrid (San Sebastián de los Reyes)

IKEA is looking for co-workers of tomorrow! Do you want to kick-start your career and join our IKEA Accelerator Programme for Junior Software Engineers at IKEA Digital? Our goal is to find people who have an interest in Software Engineering and have great ambitions to learn and develop. We offer you a unique chance to gain experience and grow with us at IKEA.

We are looking for engineers within: Frontend, Fullstack, and Backend/API who are early in their career – either fresh graduates or those who have a few years of job experience – and are excited about new technology, making great interfaces for our users with innovative ways of working and want to be a part of shaping the future of IKEA!

What you'll be doing day to day

You will be part of a group of new recruits, get trained together to quickly get up to speed, and get into your new role. You will learn how we do things here at IKEA as well as gain in-depth knowledge of the company and our digital engineering practices. The program will give you the grounding to develop in your role and future career at IKEA. Beyond the support from the Accelerator Programme, you will belong to a product team from day one and your time will be divided between software engineering work in your team and attending programme activities. You will be trained in programming languages and skills relevant to executing your tasks in the role.

For FAQ and more information regarding the Accelerator programme please visit join.ingka.com/accelerator.

Your product team builds a part of digital IKEA: from the IKEA.com website and app all the way through to essential systems for our co-workers to do their jobs effectively. We are building future customer and co-worker experiences for IKEA. We use modern technologies and ways of working, (e.g., cloud-native microservices, CI/CD, Agile, DevOps, and edge computing). We strive to be highly data-driven in decision making and we constantly explore new technologies like machine learning and AR/VR. To read more about the technologies we use, please visit https://techradar.ingka.com/.

WHY WE WILL LOVE YOU

We are looking for problem solvers who have a humanistic approach. You are curious, you see failure as a way of learning and innovating, pushing your skills, and feeling safe with a leader and a team that you trust. You see an ever-changing environment as a constant flow of opportunities and learning. You see the greater joy in sharing your success but also the strength in sharing failures. Just like us, you’re inspired to create magical, digital experiences for IKEA customers and co-workers.

The IKEA culture and values are very much a part of our business and day-to-day work life. For you to thrive and grow with IKEA it’s important for us that you share our values! You can read more regarding those and life at IKEA on our website https://about.ikea.com/en/about-us/ikea-culture-and-values.

WHAT’S THE ICING ON THE CAKE?

You will be a part of a great culture as well as our vision “to create a better everyday life for the many people” – for customers and co-workers. You will work and thrive in a truly people and planet-positive work environment.

Some of the perks that we offer:

* A workplace where you can be yourself

* Equal pay (our salaries are set independently of race, gender, age, or other individual characteristics)

* Continuous opportunities for learning and development
