About the team:
We are a cross-disciplinary group made up of writers, designers and researchers. Our team works closely with engineers, data scientists, product managers and other specialties to design and build the platform our 3,400 customers rely on for human insight in their own design process.
We are a globally distributed team, although many of us live near to company offices and choose to work in-person if we want to - those locations include Vancouver, Edinburgh, Barcelona and Paris. Our office spaces have been designed to support the kind of activities like workshops or design critiques and these spaces are connected seamlessly to our colleagues around the world via Zoom rooms.

The Opportunity:
Help us improve product usability and adoption through consistent, conversational UX writing! As a UX Writer at UserTesting, you'll design with words as part of a collaborative team of Designers, Product Managers, Marketers and Engineers.
This role is based in Edinburgh or Barcelona, but we’re open to consider profiles that work remotely from anywhere in the UK or Spain.
What you will be doing:
Use writing and editing skills to craft UI text that is easy to understand, engaging, and delightful.
Facilitate user navigation, as well as onboarding, task performance, error messages, instructional materials, and other components of the end-to-end user experience, with well-crafted content.
Collaborate with Design, Product Marketing and Product Management to enhance the user experience of the product through quality content.
Conduct UX Research to test designs and terminology, analyzing user feedback and activity, and iterating to enhance the user experience.
Collaborate with engineers, marketing, product managers, customer support, and other stakeholders. Influence and adapt to stakeholders and their feedback.
Drive vision for product language and content across our products and ensure a cohesive product narrative. Document your strategies with guidelines, and collaborate to evolve the team’s best practices and writing principles.
Manage other translations and localizations while ensuring the voice, tone and desired message.
Document content and translations for developers and external stakeholders.
What we are looking for:
Exquisite written and verbal English communication skills.
Experience in user-focused writing for digital interfaces including work in software, digital agencies, or other relevant product areas.
Relevant industry experience (UI/UX writing, content strategy, communications, design or technical writing).
High organizational skills, dedication and ownership, with the ability to work on multiple projects and deliver refined content in a short time.
Attention to detail.
Demonstrated passion and commitment to quality.
High communication and teamwork skills.
Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
Eager to learn, collaborate, and work with feedback from the design team and cross-disciplinary partners
Preferred
A web portfolio of UX-focused writing work
Experience working with distributed teams
Experience working in Agile environments
Experience with localization and accessibility best practices
Familiarity with user experience research principles and practices and how to use data to provide informed user insights
Experience working with content and translation management systems such as POEditor, Phrase or OneSky
