The candidate will work in international programs alongside a multi-disciplinary team of engineers. He/she will be responsible of software production for the electrical testing and verification of several units built by TAS-E (UUT) using designated EGSE’s from our fleet. He/she will join the Test Benches Engineering team, within CORE discipline (CORE-TBE).
Duties and Responsibilities:
The tasks will include:
- Understand of the UUT interfaces, test plan and test procedures.
- Understand the designated EGSE’s
- Develop and maintain test software scripts, libraries, drivers and processing tools that verify UUT electrically, functionally and performance-wise
- Test bench integration and validation, in close cooperation with the EGSE team to provide the complete solution.
- Learn about the in-house designs and building blocks that are part of our heritage in test benches. Propose improvements and new additions to our portfolio.
- UUT validation and follow up in a cleanroom or lab
- Collaborative work applying quality standards and internal processes
- Follow and derive functional and technical specifications and standards
- Preparation of the associated project documentation and reviews
- Take the leadership of its own activities on cost, schedule and quality requirements
- Be accountable not only to your CORE unit teammates but also to the project team members and project lead, who will belong to different engineering disciplines. The IVVQ process is a collaborative work and our company seeks team players.
- Travel may be required (0-5 times a year) within UE
- The nature of this job requires on-site work most of the time. Nevertheless, smart working equipment & tools will be provided and, depending on the task at hand, teleworking and flexible working time can be agreed with the CORE unit manager.
Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, aerospace engineering or other similar technical discipline.
Skills and ideal experience:
- Three (3) or more years of experience in object-oriented programming and integration. C++ for Windows is preferred. Focus on developing maintainable code.
- Experience in testing and in test equipment for measurement and control, including bus and communications protocols such as GPIB, VISA, USB, I2C, CAN, 1553, Spacewire, SPI, UART.
- The UUT’s are radiofrequency and digital units that will be embarked on satellites, used for communication between spacecraft and the ground systems, or for command and control of other satellite units. Ideal candidate shall be knowledgeable about the following concepts:
- satellite telemetry and telecommands
- command and control
- housekeeping
- interface control document (ICD) and interface data sheets (IDS) templates
- Capable of understanding software project needs, implementing software specifications, validating software, support technical reviews and present results
- Ability to manage and comply with costs and planning
- Languages: professional English and Spanish. French is a plus.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
