We seek a strong Software Engineer IV to join our Locations Platform organization and be a key part of the team. In this role, you will be crucial in building TomTom’s Android and IOS Navigation SDK. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline and optimize the software development lifecycle, ensuring efficient and reliable builds for our cutting-edge location-based products.
What you'll do:
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions to support the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand their workflow, pain points and identify opportunities to improve our services.
  • Implement and optimize build pipelines, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, providing timely support to development teams.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and tools, continuous integration, and delivery.
  • Contribute to the entire software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering solutions for large-scale applications.
  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or similar.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more high-level programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, or similar languages.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices for creating maintainable and scalable software systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD and build tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Familiarity with cloud service providers (e.g, Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • 3+ years of Software Engineering experience.

We're the Navigation SDK team. We work on complex code to develop TomTom's Navigation Software Development Kit, integrating technologies provided by other Product Units and enabling our customers to easily build competitive navigation applications. Your code will also be at the heart of TomTom's navigation products like AmiGO, helping millions of people find their way in the world.
