Travel. It's one of life's simple pleasures. But, ooof, planning it can feel like hard work. For the last 20 years we've been on a mission to empower every traveller with innovative tools, insights and experiences that help people get to where they're going, so they can spend more time out exploring the world, and less time anxiously bouncing around 25 browser tabs and endless spreadsheets. Our traveller-first approach drives everything we do and it's never been more important than it is today.
When we launched as a flight comparison site back in 2003, we changed the game by helping travellers feel smart, like they were in on a secret, that promise hasn't changed. And today, while we're a world leader in travel, with millions of people using our products every single day we know there's so much more we can be doing.
Being part of Skyscanner means joining a team hell bent on building the world's most innovative, and helpful travel experiences possible. We're hugely ambitious and believe we have the chance to genuinely challenge and disrupt the industry.
Rewarding. Energising. Open.
Skyscanner is a place where your senior-level talents will really come into play. Python, Spark, AWS, Airflow, Databricks, SQL, and batch/stream processing – you’ll be up to speed with some of them, and keen to build your knowledge on them all.
As a skilled Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for fully leading the end to end collection of our traveller and business data and converting it into a clear vision of user intent. This will then solve some of our most complex business problems and optimise the traveller journey. You are used to processing and enhancing large data sets. But while this technical talent is critical, you’ll also need the aim to produce a pioneering platform, using groundbreaking technologies.
We need your expertise to help us build something great for travellers: make booking stays and journeys more sustainable and straightforward. It involves technical challenges and the newest technology, from machine learning and cloud services to elite APIs!
Skyscanner’s unwavering dedication to our travellers and partners remains as strong as ever. We’re confident that our travellers’ appetite to explore the world will return, and we are excited to navigate the new considerations of an evolving industry.
Skyscanner is a hybrid working company and most roles can be either Full Time or Part Time. We believe when people meet regularly in person, we are better able to innovate, learn, collaborate and inspire. We ask people to be in the office on average 8 days per month.
Already a global leader in travel, we want to elevate the way we work to a whole other level. In return, you’ll get meaningful things like medical insurance, health screenings, headspace subscriptions, a home office allowance and the option to buy more holiday. You’ll have the opportunity to work from any country for 4 weeks a year, and 30 days in our other global offices. Everything, in other words, to help you relax and give your best.
