This week’s Startup Profile features the awesome startup GetApp, a business software marketplace that is really taking over the app scene. We wanted to explore a bit more in depth and get to know what happens behind the scenes so Christophe Primault kindly answered our questions on what GetApp is all about, let’s see what he told us!
What is GetApp and who does it target?
GetApp is the #1 independent Cloud Apps Marketplace that helps businesses to discover, compare, review and purchase the best B2B apps. We support millions of users by providing a comprehensive directory, interactive search tools, side-by-side comparison tables, user reviews and app evaluation content and resources, to help them find the best apps that fit their needs. Founded in 2010, works with over 1,800 SaaS and Cloud app vendors to generate new business leads. By showcasing their applications to our audience of prospective users and buyers, we help increase new user acquisition, market share and brand awareness for our vendors.
Why did you decide to create GetApp?
Positioning the startup as a vertical search engine for software, SaaS and cloud-based business applications on one side and a means for application providers to reach qualified buyers and lower the cost of acquiring new customers on the other. Business buyers would be able to shave off weeks from the purchase cycle of new applications. 3. What are your expectations for the future? The SaaS market is exploding. We hope to help users better understand the market and find the tool that is right for them. We also look to help SaaS companies lower the cost of acquiring ussrs and rapidly roll out integrations with third party applications without the usual cost and hassle.
GetApp works in many countries all around the World. Do you have offices in different cities?
We have clients across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. We currently have our HQ in Barcelona and some remote staff in a few other locations.
How big is your team in the Barcelona office?
We are 15 people based out of the Barcelona office.
How would you describe the work environment?
We are a start-up focused on getting done what creates the most value for our customer and our business.
What do you look for in candidates for jobs in GetApp?
Having ability to be self-directed and be able to prioriitse work independantly and working out what best addresses our customer need. Willing to ride the ups and downs of the startup lifestyle and love working in an international environment.
