What’s TripManager?
Trip Manager is a web application that enables end-users to view the itinerary of their trip including flights, hotels, and car rentals by entering a booking code and surname (replacing Viewtrip). It also offers end customers the option to purchase additional services through Travelport's merchandising and automated check-in for reservations made by selected agencies. Clients can buy extra services and pay via a bank payment gateway. For paid services, Electronic Miscellaneous Documents (EMDs) are issued in Travelport, and automated check-ins are reserved through a third-party service.
What does a great Technical Lead do?
Based in Barcelona, and integrated in a Scrum Team, you will be a Senior Developer and Technical Leader working on the latest technologies to take TripManager to the next level, following Coding and DevOps best practices in an agile environment. This role involves a mix between coding, reviewing, integrating and delivering features implemented through web components and cloud services, collaborating with stakeholders in the entire process from definition to delivery, and leading the team from a technical perspective to ensure quality and on-time deliveries.
You will come on board at a truly exciting time, and you will play a crucial role in building our next generation traveler self-service and itinerary platform, which is a pivotal part in Travelport’s strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee from a technical standpoint the developments and committed features to ensure on time and quality deliveries
- Design, develop, maintain, integrate and deliver Javascript/React, components in agile, following best Code and Integration / Delivery practices in a Cloud based - Microservices architected application
- Work on and with multiple Agile teams across the program to manage technical dependencies
- Perform frequent code reviews amongst the team
- Apply BDD and TDD principles as part of the development cycle
- Participate in release activities and deployments
- Collaborate on features sizing, user stories refinement and planning, being able to translate requirements into technical stories and reviewing features to ensure acceptance criteria are well defined
- Proactively work with the team to improve the CI/CD and automation capabilities
- Contribute to establishment and enforcement of standards and best practices. Focused on efficient, high performance, high reliability/stability experience and architectural alignment of solution.
- Provide technical guidance and help to other team members
What we look for/who would prosper in this role?
- Knowledge of software design best practices (SOLID, Patterns and antipatterns)
- 6+ year’s proven experience in software development, using:
- Experience in Git/Gitflow process in terms of branching, Pull Request process, Code/Peer reviews, merging and Trunk Based Development, feeling confident working with source control tools
- CICD familiarity, preferably implemented in MS Azure DevOps through CI and Release pipelines or GitHub enterprise
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and DevOps culture/practices.
- Understanding of security practices.
- Proven experience leading technical teams.
- Superb interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize within a continuously changing environment.
