Job Description

Your role within our Kingdom

We are looking for extraordinarily skilled Technology interns from a variety of backgrounds and interests to join our Kingdom this summer!

With titles like Candy Crush, Bubble Witch and Farm Heroes, our code runs on hundreds of millions of devices across the world. As a Technology Intern at King, you can either get involved with the making of the games, where you together with your colleagues take part in the process of specifying, designing, building and implementing existing and new game features. Or join our teams working behind the scenes with our engines, systems and platforms instead. A game that looks good on paper is nice, but a game that plays brilliantly across all digital platforms is better. Help us do just that.

Backend Developer Intern (Opportunities in Barcelona & London)

Our backends are part of an independent team but develop features in close collaboration with game and corporate teams. As a backend, you’ll need to design APIs, solve scalability challenges & write clean code; you bring solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms, you are familiar with Java and understand client- server architecture.

Game Developer Intern (Opportunities in Barcelona & London)

Our game developers work on both new and live games, implementing game mechanics, features, and technologies that will be enjoyed by millions of players all over the world. We use and develop a wide variety of technologies across the full stack, working and learning together as a team, and constantly learning from each other.

For this opportunity, it would be nice to have some experience in using C++. Having Unity or other game engine knowledge is a bonus, as well as having scripting experience from University/independent projects.

Game Engine Developer Intern (Opportunities in Barcelona, London)

Our engine developers work on improving and maintaining our cross- platform mobile engine, editor and toolchain. You will contribute to developing and refining new and existing features on behalf of our dozens of live production game teams. You will learn about the challenges faced by artists, coders, and designers, and build the technology that helps them to continuously deliver their projects. Ideally, you are experienced with C++ and passionate about building technology, games and might even have had experience with game engines yourself.

IT Support Intern (Opportunities in Barcelona and London)

IT Asset Management ensures our hardware and software are maintained correctly through their lifecycle, from purchasing to disposal. Hardware at King is connected to a multitude of systems in order to provide us data that we need for maintaining the asset, software installations, patching, purchase forecasting, supporting users and general management the hardware fleet. You’ll work together with other interns in our larger locations on a mini- project related to Asset Management! Ideal skills to assist the IT with Asset Management include a sharp attention to detail, generic asset management knowledge, generic procurement knowledge, Microsoft Excel/Sheets knowledge, some project planning knowledge and beginner proficiency in Windows and MacOS environments.

Skills to create thrills

You should have the ability to work in a flexible and fluid environment, where the job will evolve over time.

Tasty Bonus Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills in English and great organization skills
  • Creative problem- solving skills
  • The ability to work well, both autonomously, and as part of a larger team
  • You should be a current student or recently graduated.

The skills listed above are intended to portray the range of roles we have available; you do not need to possess all of these skills to apply! We will look at your own individual skill set and determine which team you would be best suited to.

Want to join our Kingdom?

Apply now! Applications need to be in English. Our internships will last for 2- 3 months, beginning in May/June 2023.

Please note: our application deadline is January 15th, however we recruit on an ongoing basis, so early application is advised to avoid disappointment.

The brilliant experience we give our players comes from the diversity and experience of our people. A great saga needs all sorts of heroes. That’s why we hire all sorts of talent.

We love hearing from anyone who is enthusiastic about changing the games industry. Not sure you meet all qualifications? Let us decide! Research shows that women and members of other under- represented groups tend to not apply to jobs when they think they may not meet every qualification, when, in fact, they often do! We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and strongly encourage you to apply.

We are committed to working with and providing reasonable assistance to individuals with physical and mental disabilities. If you are a disabled individual requiring an accommodation to apply for an open position, please email your request to accommodationrequests@activisionblizzard.com General employment questions cannot be accepted or processed here. Thank you for your interest
