🎯 Your mission

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) you will be responsible for keeping all user-facing services and other Playtomic production systems running smoothly. You will make sure our workflows remain stable, scalable, and efficient. A SRE is responsible for setting the standards and defining best practices to enable continuous deployment for Playtomic’s teams.

👩🏽‍💻 What you’ll be doing

  • Build up and implement robust monitoring and alerting solutions to preemptively address potential issues.
  • Identify and resolve problems, continuously seeking opportunities for optimization to enhance our system's reliability and scalability.
  • Run our infrastructure in AWS with ArgoCD, Kubernetes (EKS) and other AWS services.
  • Detect potential performance issues in our APIs and databases (Aurora, MongoDB, Kafka).
  • Document every action (runbooks) so your findings turn into repeatable actions and then into automation.
  • Improve operational processes (such as deployments and upgrades) to make them as efficient as possible.
  • Plan the growth of Playtomic’s infrastructure to support a worldwide platform with millions of active users a month.
  • Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack.

👥 Who you’ll be playing with

You will be the first hire in a newly created Platform team reporting directly to Playtomic’s head of Technology, Sergio Moratilla, working in daily collaboration with other engineers.


🦄 Our Ideal "Player"

  • + 5 years experience as SRE.
  • Experience defining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to work and understand other team needs in order to enable CD.
  • Good understanding of software development, and on time different stacks with expertise in at least one platform.
  • Knowledge of New Relic or Datadog is highly desirable.
  • Ideally located in Madrid or able to travel to Madrid when needed
  • Excellent spoken and written English is a must
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • Previous experience at product companies. Particularly in Platform teams.
  • Experience working with remote and partially remote and multicultural teams.
  • Experience working in start-ups and scale-ups
