We're looking for a high-performing, impactful Site Reliability Engineer to join a team that provides and manages VPN connectivity to external partners, micro-service connectivity (Istio), service discovery (Consul), as well as secrets management (Vault).
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop and implement systems, services and solutions, with the aim of improving the security, reliability, scalability and availability of systems in the following domains:
- Service Mesh (Istio)
- Internal and External Connectivity (VPN)
- Secrets Management (Vault)
- Service Discovery (Consul)
- Take ownership of our service mesh and it's underlying network stack and ensure its optimal performance and reliability
- Collaborate with other teams and support them in bringing critical new features to N26
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technology developments in service mesh
- Identify and automate repetitive tasks
- Monitor the health of your system and support them as part of an on-call rotation
What you need to be successful:
- Professional experience with VPN connectivity, micro-service connectivity (Istio or similar), service discovery (Consul or similar) and secrets management tools (Vault or similar).
- Deep understanding of microservices, service mesh architecture, networking protocols and cloud computing, as well as the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience with at least one glue language (Python or Go preferred)
- Your brain runs Linux
- Professional experience with AWS or similar clouds.
