Job Description

As a Senior UI Designer (Product Designer) at Pulselive you will shape the way in which some of the most followed clubs and organisations in world sport engage and inspire their millions of fans. Your role means you are responsible for leading the design and visual direction for multiple projects across our client base, factoring in both UI and UX considerations, across web and native mobile platforms.


You’ll thrive on creating products that have high visual impact, portraying the energy and emotion of live sport. This will be coupled with an appreciation for creating products that make the complex simple and are a delight to use.


You will have a confidence and conviction that sells your vision and designs through excellent communication skills, demonstrating knowledge in your subject matter, instilling confidence with the client and internal stakeholders from the start.


For the majority of your time you will be acting as a Design Lead across numerous projects responsible for all aspects of design including but not limited to, visual identity, user experience and brand application. You will often work hand in hand with the Research and UX team, working collaboratively to deliver perfectly designed solutions that marry creativity with simple and intuitive interfaces.


You will also play an integral role in supporting the wider product strategy, acting in a consultative role with the client and internal team members, challenging thoughts to deliver the best possible outcome.


In addition, you will be required to support the creation of conceptual work that brings to life new ideas to excite and engage internal teams, existing clients, and supporting new business opportunities.


You will often be required to adapt your approach to design, depending on the nature of the project, its timelines and objectives, adopting an open and positive approach to each task.

Key Responsibilities

  • A talented senior product designer, experienced in leading design projects across the entire lifecycle from ideation to launch, including sketching, user flows, wire-framing, prototyping, hi-fi designs
  • Initiating and leading the design process across numerous major clients and multiple projects, taking ownership of the products you lead
  • Ensuring every piece of work meets Pulselive standards for visual and usability quality
  • Solid time management skills, from scoping & estimates to delivery of designs
  • You have empathy for customer needs but also consider technical constraints and business goals to achieve the best possible outcome
  • Accomplished in presenting your product vision, designs & concepts to internal teams and to clients
  • Provide thought leadership on design and creative approach
  • Inspiring and motivating other members of the design team to fulfil their roles effectively, helping to develop their skills and knowledge

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • You live and breathe design, demonstrating a keen eye for delivering high impact visuals with pixel-perfect attention to detail
  • A thorough understanding of all aspects of product design
  • Ability to adapt your approach to suit each individual task, making best use of the time you have available to deliver value for our customers
  • You have a clear rationale for your design decisions - everything is purposeful, you are strategic, analytical and a great problem solver
  • Experienced working closely with Product Managers, Engineers and wider teams
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, able to sell a vision and ideas to other designers, internal stakeholders and clients
  • Excellent client management skills, capable of building strong, trusted relationships
  • Highly driven to succeed, inspiring the team to continually improve their standard of work
  • Highly experienced and proficient in Sketch, Invision, & Zeplin. Adobe Creative Cloud products (e.g. Photoshop, After Effects) and other popular tools (e.g. Figma, Principle) are a bonus
  • Passion or good knowledge of sport
