Entrust is seeking a Senior/Systems Engineer to solve complex business and technology problems for our Server, Storage, Back Up and Directory Services environments. This individual will be a key partner with internal stakeholders, including development, Customer Support and Professional Services teams to provide Infrastructure solutions that support Entrusts rapidly growing and evolving business. This individual will be responsible for gathering and turning requirements into working solutions by building and supporting stable platforms and services.

Responsibilities:

Lead & develop day-to-day support & operation activities for Infrastructure services within backup, server, directory services, internal F5 and storage platforms

  • Platform ownership of Veeam backup environments

  • Experience with server hardware on Intel x86_64 platforms

  • Perform standard server Operating System administration duties and threat & vulnerability remediations on RedHat Linux 7 & 8, CentOS 7 & 8, Windows 2016, 2019.

  • Lead & develop day-to-day support & operation activities for VMware Operations Manager, vCenter, Site Recovery Manager & NSX.

  • Lifecycle management of Cisco UCS server hardware (vSphere ESXi 6.x) & Dell NVMe servers

  • Provide management of non-networking portions of Big-IP F5 Load Balancers

  • Manage and support DHCP servers and scopes & internal DNS

  • Responsible for Domain Registration management with various registrars including AWS Route53, MarkMonitor and others

  • Responsible for iLO remote server management

  • Collaborate with Infrastructure DevOps subject matter expert to implement and manage an Infrastructure As A Service (IaaS) platform leveraging VMWare, Terraform, GitBucket, etc

  • Execute on strategic projects as assigned from end-to-end  

  • Break-Fix incident resolution, root cause analysis and problem management.

  • Participate in the service on-call rotation providing 24/7 incident response in accordance with published Service Level Agreements

  • Respond to and fulfill customer Service Request tickets

  • Create and update operational and procedural documentation

  • Apply knowledge of various programming/scripting languages, support best practices and configuration management to support and maintain platforms/services.

  • Establish standards and repeatable processes for managing change across environments, and bringing in new and innovative technologies, where applicable

Basic Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must have a broad technical understanding of infrastructure technologies and cloud technologies, in general, including enterprise security, backup/DR strategies, networking, VMware virtualization, data center, integration architecture, orchestration technologies, containerization technologies and a strong understanding of application development lifecycle management.

  • 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure support & operations

  • Strong experience with Veeam backup, NetBackup (deprecating) and VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) Disaster Recovery SW  

  • Deep experience in System Administration including extensive knowledge in server operating systems: RHEL & Microsoft Server 2016/2019

  • Strong experience with Internal F5 Loadbalancing and iRule creation/traffic routing

  • Strong VMware Cloud Foundation experience including Software Defined Datacenter (SDDC) Manager, vSphere, vSAN, NSX,

  • Platform management and administration of Horizon 7 VDI environment

  • Strong understanding of HyperV virtualization and container solutions

  • Good understanding of IT systems development process, including architecture, design, engineering and operations

  • Solid experience with scripting language PowerShell,

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent technical degree and/or work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Netapp Storage

  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (AWS)

  • Experience with VictorOps alerting platform
