Data Team
You will be part of Mercadona Tech's Data team. We are a cross organisation team that helps and owns several data initiatives across Mercadona Tech.
The team handles two differentiated work-streams:
- Data platform work: maintain existing tools / propose new tools so that data is properly managed across MO. The joy of the crown, ETL pipelines! We have custom ELs and we handle the T with DBT.
- Vertical oriented work: derive data-driven solutions to help other teams progress in their missions. In this line of work we can quote: demand forecasting, AB testing, recommender systems, routing algorithm, dimensional modeling.
What are we looking for?:
- Proficient in SQL, Python and the use of Jupyter notebooks.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL databases
- Experience with Google Cloud. Other public clouds knowledge will be a nice to have.
- Be interested in building internal facing data abstractions, platforms, tools and products. Past experience with orchestrators (Airflow, Dagster, Argo…) or CDC tools (Debezium, Meltano, Airbyte…) will be highly valuable.
- Extreme initiative ownership. We are in a product company, so we question whether the initiatives in which we are working are worth it in terms of the added value.
- Collaborative mindset. Pairing and mob programming sessions within the team and outside the team (PM and software engineers) are a common practice.
- Have a solid software engineering background, particularly in terms of architecture and best practices such as containerization, incremental design, short development cycles, and TDD.
