Stuart is a leading tech-enabled logistics platform that transforms on-demand delivery across sectors like food, grocery, and retail. Operating in over 130 cities across Europe, Stuart connects businesses with a network of independent couriers, providing access to fast, flexible, and efficient deliveries.

Our Mission 🚀
We are an impact-driven company that aims to build the future of logistics for a more sustainable world: shared, efficient and reliable. We are committed to creating a new standard for urban deliveries that meet today’s environmental and social challenges while offering a premium delivery experience blending speed, flexibility and convenience.
Stuart is a highly diverse and inclusive company of 280+ employees from different nationalities and backgrounds working across France 🇫🇷, Italy 🇮🇹, Poland 🇵🇱, Spain 🇪🇸 and the UK. 🇬🇧

It’s the right moment and the right place for us to make an impact on millions of people, as home delivery services hit a record high. And guess what? You can help us fulfil our vision 🙌

The role

The Data Platform empowers most of Stuart's data-driven decisions, facilitating key insights across the organization. We estimate that over half of all Stuart employees use the data platform to inform their business decisions each month.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will collaborate closely with various analytical and engineering teams to provide solutions for the company’s data needs: improving data quality, governance, and performance; and designing tooling to ingest, transform, explore, and visualize data.

You will join the Data Platform team and report to Miklos Horn, Engineering Manager, based in Barcelona (Spain).

What will I be doing? 🤔

    • Design, implement, and maintain a robust Data Platform that collects, stores, and processes data, focusing on scalability and reliability.
    • Work closely with Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts, and Software Engineers to develop self-serve data solutions for ingestion, transformation, visualization, and data protection, ensuring scalability to meet user needs.
    • Employ DataOps practices to enhance data quality, governance, and operational efficiency across the platform.
    • Utilize pair programming, code reviews, and workshops to share knowledge about Python, code architecture, tooling, integration, and deployment, fostering team collaboration.
    • Monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability, ensuring seamless data flow across the platform.

What do we need from you? 😎

    • Fluency in English.
    • 5+ years of experience working with Python.
    • Strong experience in designing and implementing data platforms, including ETL frameworks and CI/CD strategies for data pipelines.
    • Familiarity with Analytical Data Stores, including Data Lakes and Data Warehouses.
    • Solid knowledge of cloud services, particularly AWS, including Redshift, AWS Glue, and AWS Athena.

    • Want to put a smile on our face?
    • Experience with container-based deployments using Kubernetes or Docker Compose.
    • Familiarity with Apache Kafka or other streaming platforms.
    • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform.
    • Experience with data visualization tools.
    • Background in incident management and response.
    • Understanding of service observability principles and tools.

The stuff you wanna know 😉

    • Current benefits include:

    • Work in an international, dynamic & passionate environment with a company culture focused on learning and development 🎉
    • Hybrid working model and flexible hours ✨
