Our mission in supply and demand team is to optimise the content availability at all levels of saturation in Glovo homepage and search results.
The team owns several services to ensure that the customers see the best content at any moment in different cities. Our services decide which stores are available based on customer location and how to optimise these content based on saturation events.
The team, is a combination of backend engineers and data scientists, working closely together to deliver and maintain high throughput and high available systems.
If you are interested in working on high throughput, low latency real time services and applying engineering best practices along with designing optimal algorithms and data structures, Supply and Demand team is a great opportunity.

YOU HAVE:
- An empathetic, inclusive and curious attitude
- Experience diagnosing and resolving performance problems in complex software systems.
- 4+ years of relevant full-time experience.
- Solid experience working Java or any other server language as well as server side technologies.
- Capacity to design software at scale.
- Capacity to work autonomously and figure out how to solve problems.
- You are able to collaborate closely with product to gather functional and non-functional requirements.
- Knowledge of relational databases and other approaches to data management.
- Knowledge of concurrency and Event-Driven Development.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

NICE-TO-HAVES:
- Experience in managing distributed services/microservices platforms.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
In your 1st month:
- Participate in our onboarding process and get familiar with our culture, values and Glovo in general.
- Get familiar with the Logistics as a Service lifecycle and products.
- Get the hang of our day-to-day ways of working and participating in our different ceremonies and processes (We keep them to the minimum to make things efficient and we always strive to improve them).
- Meet other contributors from the different teams within the cluster.
- Ship your first changes to our services.
- Create your career growth plan together with your EM and on boarding buddy.
In your 3rd month:
- Get to be more autonomous and be able to groom, estimate and deliver features.
- Increase your domain and technical knowledge by networking with your colleagues within the team and cluster.
- You rise the efficiency of our processes by giving active feedback to the team.
In your 6th month:
- Design and propose your own solutions for our new features, owning the deliverable from start to finish.
- You have a good network of contacts within the company and participate in different workgroups.
- Contribute to improve the engineering culture of the whole company, working alongside other backend engineers of the company.
- Onboard new engineers into the team and our process.
