We are searching for a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) who is passionate about the vision of our product.
Our Backend Engineers are an integral part of our cross-functional Product teams. You will be part of the entire feature lifecycle from ideation and brainstorming through to deploying your unit-tested and instrumented code to production.
You’ll join the Enterprise squad. It’s mission is to develop the tools, features, and integrations that enable Preply’s business customers to manage language learning programs for their employees. Upcoming projects include improving our ability to track learner progress, integrating with 3rd party language management systems, and improving our program’s administration tools. This space offers a lot of variety in stakeholders and exposure to many parts of Preply’s learning platform as well as a focus on our business program administration tools. It’s an opportunity to get a holistic view of technology in EdTech, the marketplace, and be exposed to deal-making practices.
We release our product 50-60 times per day by leveraging technologies like Kubernetes (Skaffold+Helm), Docker and top-notch CI/CD processes. As a Senior Backend Engineer you will:
You’ll use your expertise to power up our APIs that are required by frontend developers. You will contribute to feature and architectural designs that help us to improve the user experience of our enterprise customers.
Collaborate with your team as you design and implement robust, readable, well-tested and solutions
Develop back-end and database driven unit-tested features using Python language and Django framework
Develop GraphQL endpoints to be consumed by frontend (our frontend stack is React/TypeScript).
Learn the needs of our users and define solutions with your product manager and tech lead. Think beyond the code and about our customers.
Help us make our best practices even better (test culture, code reviews, mentoring)
Who are you?
A great collaborator with excellent communication skills.
Strong knowledge of Python.
Experience with SQL databases.
Strong experience developing web applications.
Experience with GraphQL, Celery, AWS, Jenkins.
Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, unit-testing.
Django knowledge is a big plus.
Bonus: React/Typescript.
Min. B2 English level (company gives 200$/month for studying English on Preply.com).
