You will join the squad responsible for Personio Conversations, a concierge for employees and a centralized point for all your employee requests. Conversations are part of the People Workflow Automation initiative. PWA automates people workflows across the employee lifecycle, across different tools and teams. It enables HR to go beyond HR and win back valuable time, time that can then be spent on and with people. We are a cross-functional group of engineers, designers and product managers from many nationalities and backgrounds, spread across different locations, and we continue to grow in 2022. Role & Responsibilities
  • You'll join a team working on the latest software Personio released in August 2022, improving the experience of every employee working for Personio's customers.
  • With the help of our product manager, you'll design and implement new features that our customers will love.
  • You'll design and develop a maintainable, reliable, performant, and secure API to empower the frontend and our Slack/MSTeams integrations.
  • You'll lead by example and push our engineering practices towards excellence with efficient, performant code, good design patterns and healthy engineering standards.
  • You'll mentor engineers and review their code and RFCs to help them grow in their careers.
  • You'll participate in technical case interviews to bring in exceptional talents such as yourself.

  • We are a product company, so our teams are organised in a mission-based cross-functional fashion. You will work in the Workflows and Integrations Domain, alongside other Backend Engineers, Designers, Product and Engineering managers to create the building blocks to automate processes in all other customer-facing domains.
  • We have a “you built it, you run it” attitude and CI/CD is second nature to us - we use AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab to implement it.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
The skills you are bringing:
  • You have strong expertise with Go and professional experience building software at scale.
  • You follow industry best practices and deliver clean and tested code.
  • You have experience leading and mentoring other engineers. That means unblocking them, helping them become better engineers by reinforcing best practices, and reviewing their code and RFCs.
  • You have experience designing software components, respecting the separation of concern and making architectural decisions to help maintain the codebase.
  • You can translate Domain strategy into engineering decisions.
  • You have excellent written and spoken English (level C1/C2 on the CEFR scale).
