Peer Community is Gartner's peer-driven platform where thousands of verified technology leaders connect with each other to network, discuss trending topics, get advice, share knowledge, and in general stay on top of trends in the technology space. Users can post questions and polls and get insights from peers through discussions and data. Users also get packaged insights on a variety of topics through One-Minute Insights. Technology leaders get access to real-time data and insights to inform their most critical decisions.

About the role:

This is a unique opportunity for a systematic, technically strong, and driven individual to make a big impact on Gartner’s peer experiences roadmap as part of the Gartner Product Management organization. We are looking for an impact-driven, self-motivated problem solver who can contribute to the Backend Services and Infrastructure of the Peer experiences platforms.

You will grow the Backend Services team to support Peer experiences as a capability across Gartner to enable clients to get insights from their peers. This role will work closely with the company leadership as well as the Front-end, Product, Design, and QA teams to implement the product roadmap. You will also work closely with Engineering teams across Gartner. Furthermore, you will also help mentor team members and help with setting and enforcing coding guidelines.

What you will do:

  • Assume major responsibility on the Backend services team supporting the Peer Community product.

  • Participate actively in architectural planning and decisions.

  • Help build, extend, and refine backend services API for peer services.

  • Extend our infrastructure and data pipelines to serve internal and external teams and partners.

  • Work closely with Design and Product teams to build a truly useful product.

  • Understand user requirements and help understand and provide input into product strategy.

  • Contribute to and enforce guidelines for clean maintainable code.

  • Join a product and team in the early stages of its growth trajectory.

What you will need:

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field required

  • 3+ years of experience using Golang or similar programming languages (Java, PHP, etc.)

  • Some knowledge or experience with event-driven architecture and modern frameworks.

  • Proven track record of building scalable, performant, fault-tolerant, modular, and understandable solutions.

  • Strong working knowledge of a typical software development lifecycle.

  • Strong communication skills in English to facilitate cross-cultural communication in a distributed team with limited overlap of working hours

  • Analytical problem-solving skills, outcome-oriented mindset, and a bias for action.

Nice to have/opportunity to learn (depending on the team):

  • Ability to operate independently and knowing when to ask questions to produce thorough solutions even given vague product and design requirements.

  • Strong sense of ownership and drive to help execute our product roadmap.

  • You are stoked about working with data, visualizations, and graphs.

Don’t meet every single requirement? We encourage you to apply anyway. You might just be the right candidate for this, or other roles.

How we work:

  • We work with a focus on continuous, iterative delivery.

  • We rely on communication and collaboration over planning and documents.

  • We test heavily allowing us to rapidly deliver changes with minimal risk.

  • We are a flat organization with minimal management overhead.

  • Fun culture and great coworkers.

What you will get:

  • Competitive compensation.

  • 23 days annual holiday and an additional day off for your birthday.

  • Private Medical and Dental Care.

  • Life and Disability Insurance.

  • Public Transport Subsidy.

  • Ticket Restaurant Card.

  • Childcare Vouchers (Ticket Guarderia).

  • IncentiFit - annual reimbursement for health-and-wellness-related activities.

  • Pension Scheme.

  • Tuition Reimbursement.

  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

  • Employee Assistance Program.

  • Gartner Gives Charity Match.

  • Relocation Assistance - a specialist to help you with all the appointments and paperwork.

  • Limitless growth and learning opportunities.

  • A collaborative and positive culture - join a diverse team of professionals that are as smart and driven as you.

  • A chance to make an impact – your work will contribute directly to our strategy.

  • A hybrid work environment—enjoy the flexibility of working from home and the energy of collaborating with peers in our dynamic offices.

  • New offices close to Glòries and the beach in the fantastic, “innovation and tech” 22@ district of sunny Barcelona.

  • Fresh fruit, snacks, selection of teas, fair trade organic coffee and a fridge full of beer for our Thursday Beer O’Clock.

And much more!
