With the massive surge of electronic travel documents and national eID cards, Thales Digital & Security global business unit is supporting border agencies, government authorities and airports to exploit technology convergence to gain consistent, comprehensive border, visa management and document verification worldwide, that will:

As part of the Delivery team for our Border Control Group is responsible for the design and implementation of software components and products, qualification and integration of third party's hardware in the scope of Government Programs for travel related project (Border Control, ABC (Automated Border Control), Visa Management,). Our products span from reusable libraries (hardware connectors, biometric libraries), desktop applications integrating various hardware (passport readers, fingerprint scanners, printers, digital cameras), up to high performance servers.
A week in the life of an IT & System Intern:
- You will work on creating, modifying and migrating virtual and physical machines.
- You will support Delivery projects on deployment and maintenance of staging/test servers.
- You will assess, investigate and eventually solve issues and requests from these teams related to staging machines (space, performance, network issues).
- You might work to improve or config DB systems for staging or test environments.
- You will troubleshoot and fix hardware issues during staging system operation.
- Eventually you might help IT members on Bill of Material elaboration for tenders and new projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
To succeed in this position, you must have:
- Be competent in operating systems, networking, devices (including firmware), hardware and software and oriented to problem solving.
- Experience with Windows Server and Linux OSs.
- Easy going, patient, methodical and good at team working.
- We would like someone to join our team who is passionate on technical work, willing to learn, team player and proactive. Creative, autonomous, detail oriented.
- English B2 minimum is required.
What are we looking for?
We look for an IT & System intern preferably with a degree/last course in Technical Engineering or 'Formación Profesional', with main goal to support IT department on support and maintenance of local infrastructure, (Servers, virtualization and network), updates, migrations, etc...
As an intern member on the Infrastructure team in Madrid, he/she will work on virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware), and will learn about SAN solutions, clustering, networking and biometric HW.
In addition, we would like you to meet the following requirements:
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Telematics or similar.
- To have completed all the subjects of the degree/master's degree (except for the TFG/TFM).
- High level of English & Spanish.
- Knowledge of operating systems, networks, hardware and software.
- Knowledge of Windows Server and Linux OS.
- You are passionate about technical work, and have creativity and proactivity.
What does the Talent Programme consist of?
