Job Description

We’re a fast growing startup that has already raised close to €10 million in investment from leading venture capital firms, and have been named by Bloomberg as one of the 50 most promising startups in the world to look out for. Our goal is to revolutionise the world of Location Management and the way businesses think about, and act upon location data.

At Geoblink we use the latest technologies to find solutions to real world problems businesses face when trying to expand or increase efficiency. We leverage GIS technologies and Big Data to create a beautiful map-based user interface that not only provides lots of awesome statistics but also a great user experience.

We are proud of the environment of collaboration and diversity we have built and continue to foster, with plenty of opportunities to have a real impact on the business.

About the role

You will join the team responsible for our user-facing app, from the most visual components to the database structure and pipelines to ingest client data.

Although the position is for Frontend, as the whole stack is in JavaScript, you can do some backend and devops tasks from time to time if you want to broaden your skills. If you are curious about our full stack, take a look at our stackshare page.

These are the sort of things you can expect to be doing:

  •  Create reusable components for our Design System, from a simple button to a complex reactive graph written with D3.js.
  • Apply deep computer and network's knowledge to enhance the performance of large scale data visualizations, sometimes in ways that no one has ever done before, having to research those greenfield problems.
  • Determine which frontend architecture approaches and patterns to apply (understand their perks, their flaws and be able to choose the best fits).
  • Implement clean and glitch-free motion design animations.
  • Define and drive the best software development/engineering and operational practices for the team

About the Tech team

Our systems are built using an SOA approach that allows us to deploy multiple times on a given day.

We always go the extra mile and look for continuous improvements as we believe great isn’t good enough. We love monitoring, pull requests, iterative approaches, continuous integration, and automated testing.

We move fast but put a lot of thought into the design of our architecture and data processes so that they are simple and scalable. We write clean and modular code to produce great software and accurate insights that solve the needs of our clients.

We have high standards not just for the things we build, but also for our culture and the development of the people in our team. We foster an inclusive atmosphere of humbleness and respect, where ideas are shared and feedback is used to promote quality and innovation

Who we’re looking to recruit

We want to continue hiring passionate, humble and smart individuals who can help us figure things out and implement their ideas at the same time. We would like to see in you:

  • Deep knowledge of JavaScript. We write all our code in JS, from the most basic components to the servers to ETL code. Ideally, you should be able to write solid asynchronous code and know how to test it. Your daily basis will be writing Vuejs code.
  • Analytical mindset. You are able to split problems into seizable components that are extendable and adaptable to future complications or modifications of the requirements.
  • Good understanding of CSS. You can explain Flexbox to a kid and you know five ways to center text in a div.
  • Leadership skills who can understand new problems, design technical solutions and lead the implementation of the project.
  • Good communication skills, both in Spanish and English.
