Bookassist, part of Jonas group, is a multi-award winning and leading provider of online booking technology, distribution technology, web design and digital strategy services to the hotel industry internationally. Bookassist creates, manages and continuously optimises digital strategies for hotels and hotel groups. We drive our clients’ online business and seek to obtain higher and higher conversion to improve direct booking on our clients’ hotel websites.
Bookassist is expanding rapidly with additional offices in Madrid, Rome, Vienna and Prague and a client base of over 2000 hotels.
The development team is looking for a front end developer capable of implementing solutions to our different platforms based on designs provided by UX analysts.
Please note the ideal candidate would be based in Spain as occasional travel to Madrid will be required.
What will you be doing
You will participate in the maintenance and development of our Booking Engine’s front end and backend along with our CMS solution for the hotel websites.
You will make sure that your development is cross-browser proof.
You will work in an agile and collaborative environment.
You will participate in meetings along with UX and other developers in English.
You will be working mainly remotely but attending events based in Madrid.
What we expect from you
Knowledge of HTML5 and its semantics.
Best practices in CSS and the use of precompilers (Sass) and frameworks (Bootstrap)
Owner of a clean, scalable and modular code.
Used to multi-device responsive web design developments.
Experience in web accessibility following the W3C standards.
Feel comfortable working with version control tools (Git).
English: you need to be able to communicate, in writing and in speech. We’re an international company.
Skills in JavaScript technologies along with JSON data processing.
Experience in web page optimization for Google (Google Page Speed).
Desirable
An eye for the pixel perfect, cutting-edge digital products (Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, Axure, InVision)
Experience with modern Front-end JS frameworks (ideally React).
Experience with ES-6
Experience with the tooling of the JavaScript eco-system (npm/Yarn, NodeJS, Webpack.
Experience with next.js framework.
Experience with PHP or Java.
Experience with a CMS (Expression Engine, Drupal, WordPress...)
Online portfolio.
