We are looking for an enthusiastic student to join our Maps Analytics and Data Engineering team in Madrid! As a Data Science Intern, you will immerse yourself in the geospatial data world, collecting, analyzing, and transforming data, and scaling-up processes to help us upgrade our maps for our end-customers!
What you’ll do
- You will help us collect large amounts of (geospatial) data and transform it into a more usable format
- You will solve business-related problems using data-driven techniques
- You will help us to stay on top of computational techniques such as big data computing, real-time computing, continuous development
- You will identify patterns in data, as well as spotting trends that can help improving the business’s bottom line
- You will communicate and collaborate with Data Scientists, engineers, product managers and Maps Operations Team globally.
- Dedicate part of your weekly schedule on research and development to acquire new skills, run your own experiments.
- Work in a hybrid and flexible way, combining office and remote working, that will allow you find the perfect work-life balance
What you’ll need
- You are enrolled in a Master’s degree in computer science or engineering, data science, Big Data or any other related field (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science,...)
- You are enrolled in a Spanish university
- You are fluent in English
- You have programming experience with Python and SQL with knowledge of software engineering principles (Object-oriented programming, testing, ...)
- You have experience working with the main python libraries for data processing (pyspark, pandas, numpy,…)
- You have experience with data visualization (storytelling) (e.g., dash, streamlit)
- Being familiar with Microsoft cloud computing (Azure & Databricks) or any other cloud experience is a plus!
