Job Description

Cloud Systems Developers - Confidential Computing - are responsible for coding the integrations needed to enable end-to-end Confidential Computing across a highly distributed computing continuum, ensuring complete data security - whether data is at rest, in transit, or in use. The goal is to bring confidentiality to the entire data lifecycle, making sure data is protected during storage, transmission, and processing. This will enable the secure integration of untrusted resources, whether from public cloud providers or on-premises edge locations, and support secure interoperability between cloud systems.

Systems Developers focus on ensuring that cloud management products align with project and business goals, comply with best practices, and meet performance requirements. You’ll work in an agile environment to design, develop, test, maintain and validate with use cases a next generation management platform for the Cloud-Edge Computing Continuum. You will also participate in the upstream community, on challenging projects developing innovative edge/cloud systems. Applicants should be passionate about the future of the software defined datacenter, distributed systems, and open source.

What you will do

  • Be the Subject Matter Expert on confidential virtualization

  • Design, develop and maintain OpenNebula components to enable its integration with confidential virtualization
  • Provide technical direction and leadership around developing tools and SDKs for distributed computing platforms to run confidential VMs
  • Support software development on Confidential Computing platforms, helping to define the best interface to consume confidential computing functionality.
  • Evaluating the performance of confidential distributed cloud systems to identify bottlenecks and bugs
  • Test-driven development of large-scale confidential cloud-edge solutions integrating and extending open source products, and using Git based workflows to develop new features in the project repositories
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in security and confidential computing.
  • Writing and maintaining software documentation and supporting the creation of dissemination material (webinars, blog posts, white papers, etc).
  • Working with user use cases to test, debug, and troubleshoot software, assuring quality and functionality
  • Working with other companies in the cloud-edge ecosystem within international projects and open-source communities. Availability to occasional travel and participation in international events and meetings
  • Working with the integration and deployment teams in support and issue troubleshooting and triage, the use cases and solutions team in discovery and demo sessions, and the community team in contributions to the open-source community

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience in cloud systems development and integration for cloud computing using open-source technologies.
  • Hands-on professional experience in Confidential Computing technology (e.g., Intel SGX, AMD SEV-SNP, Intel TDX, etc.)
  • Experience in designing, developing and maintaining Ruby code base for system applications with knowledge of computing systems integration and the interaction with the operating system facilities like I/O, networking and virtualization
  • Experience integrating computing systems specially related to virtualization, storage and networking
