As the Chief Data Officer (CDO) you will be responsible for creating and overseeing the company’s data strategy, ensuring data governance, and optimizing data-driven decision-making processes. You will lead the development and implementation of data management systems, policies, and initiatives to enhance the organization’s capabilities in data analytics, data integration, and data security.

To be the ideal candidate for this role you will have a strong background in data management, analytics, and leadership, with a proven track record of leveraging data to drive business growth and innovation. This position will be reporting to our Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

 

Job Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Data Strategy & Governance:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the company’s business goals.
    • Establish data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data quality, consistency, and security.
    • Champion the use of data as a strategic asset to drive business insights and decision-making.
  • Data Management & Architecture:
    • Oversee the design and implementation of data infrastructure and architecture to support analytics and reporting needs.
    • Ensure effective data integration and data lifecycle management across various platforms and systems.
    • Lead initiatives to modernize data platforms and adopt new technologies for data storage, processing, and analytics.
  • Data Analytics & Insights:
    • Drive the development of advanced analytics capabilities, including predictive analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
    • Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities for data-driven innovation and optimization.
    • Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support business strategies and objectives.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, including data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts.
    • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous learning within the organization.
    • Promote cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing to enhance data literacy across the company.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with data management and data privacy.
    • Develop and implement data security policies and protocols to protect sensitive information.

 

Experience And Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing data strategies and governance frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate data insights into actionable business strategies.
  • English proficiency (Spanish is a nice to have)
