The Engineering team at Brainly is working on some of the most complex challenges in the ed-tech space: creating communities for students around the world. We focus on building the infrastructure that enables Brainly users to ask and answer millions of questions every day. The systems we build are used across all of Brainly, making us one of the most cross-functional teams at the company.

We are taking over the world, and to do so we are looking for strong engineers that are ready to push boundaries and help us solve large-scale problems with solutions that translate into lasting impact. We're looking for Full-stack Engineers who will join one of our product teams: Subscription, Tutoring, CRO and Community.

 

Subscription Team

The mission of the Subscription team is to help users to understand the value of Brainly and make the purchase process as efficient as possible. The work is mission-critical, directly contributing to Brainly's bottom line. As a part of this team, you will create new ideas, test hypotheses and use data-driven techniques to deliver the optimal solutions. You will work with us on new Brainly features and growth hacking experiments.We’re looking for a strong Front-End developer with Back-End skills to work with us on optimization of subscriptions conversion rate and building new product features. Full-stack skills are required due to team structure (no frontend/backend differentiation).

Tutoring Team

Members of the Tutoring team collaboratively build a new user’s approach and feature sets to the existing Q&A learning platform improving our business model, knowledge base, and satisfaction for our users. With new products on app and desktop, we want to upgrade our current offering and extend our value proposition - from instant and real-time help to video answers. This team works closely with our commercial, engagement, and mobile team and is thinking of the best user experience and revenue perspective creating another strong muscle in Brainly’s long-term strategy.

CRO Team

The Conversion Optimisation (CRO) team is a fast-paced environment dedicated to generating impact on Brainly’s core monetization KPIs. Our work has a direct impact on the company’s revenue — and that’s super exciting. We are data enthusiasts, passionate about research, and advocates of controlled experiments (AB tests). Expect a lot of ideation sessions and outside of the box thinking that fuels our winning variants. As a Full-stack Engineer joining this team, you will help us make sure we’re breaking things fast, fixing and learning even faster.

Community Team

The primary goal of the Community team is the creation of the tools used by our community to ensure the finest used experience on Brainly. They make sure Brainly is a place for all students to share knowledge and help each other in a safe and supportive atmosphere.

 

What will you do:
  • Driving initiatives leading to conversion rate optimization (CRO/Subscriptions)
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining code for Brainly platform to enhance the great learning experience for our users.
  • Solving complex challenges such as performance, scalability, and security
  • Collaborating with other software engineers to design scalable services, plan feature roll-out, and ensure high reliability and performance of your deliverables.
  • Conducting code reviews, contributing high-quality documentation and building robust test suites for your features.
  • Designing and build rich text collaboration tool for web and mobile
  • Contributing to all stages of the software development life cycle to create world-class products
  • Mentoring other engineers within the team and cross-functionally based on personal strengths and capabilities.

What will you need?

Required: 
  • At least 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
  • Excellent knowledge of modern JavaScript (ESNext)
  • Experience in React
  • Experience in testing with JavaScript frameworks
  • Knowledge of modern CSS methodology
  • Knowledge of best practices in Website, JavasScript and Mobile performance and optimization topic
  • Experience in databases / data stores
  • Fluency in English
Nice to have:
  • Experience in mobile-first approach in Responsive Web Design
  • Experience with GraphQL
  • Experience working with public cloud provider offerings (AWS, GCP, Azure etc)
  • Experience building microservices
  • Experience building distributed systems at scale
  • Experience in real time communication (websockets)
  • Experience in End-to-End testing
  • Knowledge of Go, Node.js or Python

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • Location: Kraków or Barcelona, or remotely from Poland/Spain
  • Salary: 15 000 - 23 000 PLN gross/monthly (employment contract)
