Independently provides full design, configuration and support for common systems infrastructure (HW and SW), including network and security settings, for both on-premise and cloud implementations.  Assists senior technicians in design, configuration, development and support of widely shared, complex and critical infrastructure.  Provides primary support for administering Microsoft 365, SharePoint, MS Teams and Azure Active Directory.   This role will also lead and partner with other IT, Security, Legal, Compliance and Business departments to establish governance and compliance for the Microsoft 365 application suite.  Evaluates, tests and installs complex security patches and bug fixes as needed.  Ensures appropriate failover solutions are implemented and tested to meet business continuity needs.  Provides global support to resolve compute and storage infrastructure outages and to help diagnose application problems.  Ensures back-out plans are created and executable in the event of an implementation problem.  Continually updates skillset and stays abreast of technologies trends and developments. May also provide technical guidance to Associate System Engineers. 

Responsibilities:

  • Administers, configures and supports monitoring tools, foundational collaboration applications such as Office365, SharePoint, and Teams; performs migrations; installs business applications, and performs ongoing upgrades to HW and SW for supportability, effective security, and reliability. (35%)

  • Designs, configures, and implements server and storage solutions to enable projects, and provide ongoing capacity to operate local and global Tech Data applications.  These include TD-owned platforms as well as cloud platforms.   (25%)

  • Provides full operational controls and feature support for Microsoft 365 application suite; monitors new and upcoming changes to M365 products and communicates those changes to IT management; partners with server support team in providing server patches and upgrades as needed; partners with SharePoint developers to configure, maintain and support the growth of Tech Data’s O365 environment, including Power Apps, Power Automate, PowerShell, Nintex workflows & related SharePoint / Teams components.  (25%) 

  • Creates and maintains technical documentation, asset inventories and configuration information. (10%) 

  • Seeks and leverages opportunities to expand knowledge and skill base (5%) 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 3 to 5 Years of relevant work experience overseeing and supporting SharePoint as lead administrator.

  • Associate Degree with Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management or Related field of study required; or equivalent combination of education, experience, training and certification may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Preferred experience supporting M365 application suite with ShareGate migration tool, PowerApps, SharePoint Designer and Nintex / Power Automate workflows.

  • Preferred familiarity with M365 Security and Compliance Center.

  • Experience with SharePoint on-premise and online administration

  • Experience with Windows PowerShell administration modules and executing commands.

  • Knowledge of configuration and capabilities of search, managed metadata, workflow and MS graph

  • Able to execute instructions and to request clarification when needed.

  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.

  • Able to communicate clearly and convey necessary information.

  • Other Education / Certifications: VMWare VCP-DCV, MCSA: Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019, Azure Associate, VCSA, ITIL Foundation, LPIC1, HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate, AWS Certified Developer - Associate.

Working Conditions:
