At Celonis, we have a variety of different frontend challenges ranging from building forms, reusable component libraries, design systems, micro frontend architectures, and highly optimised visualizations that render big data, frontend SDKs, etc.
The Role:
As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Celonis, your responsibility is to find the best technical solutions applying frontend technologies to deliver a unique product, Celonis EMS.
You will become part of a newly established team building a browser-based HTML Canvas rendering engine. This role is essential to enabling other UI engineers to develop beautiful and highly-interactive user experiences. (such as charts and flow diagrams)

At Celonis we work with Agile methodologies.
Our tech stack is: Canvas, Typescript 4+ and Angular 13.
We develop using SOLID principles and focusing on performance.
The work you’ll do:
- Discover new interesting problems and develop solutions to them.
- Improve the performance and usability of the Canvas Engine library
- Write unit and integration tests.
- Write and review RFCs and technical documentation.
- Review and give feedback on the work of others.
- You will have a lot of fun at work, too :)
The qualifications you need:
- Minimum 5 years of proven industry experience in web development
- Solid experience with JavaScript & TypeScript
- Understanding of the 2D rendering techniques (Flash, Canvas)
- Built libraries that were used by other teams ( internal or external )
- Understanding of the end-to-end web development process
- Practical experience with Storybook or similar tooling
- Experience with building games is welcome
- Attention to detail and spotting things that feel visually “off”
- Some exposure to browser rendering pipeline and Performance API is useful
- Passion for Mathematics is benefic ( mainly geometry )
- Strong command of English – verbal & written (we’re an international team
