Job Summary:

As a Manager, Software Engineering, your mission will be to improve our engineering organization teams to make their jobs better and easier. Working towards an Agile DevOps transformation you will be managing and organizing the engineering backlog, implementing clear working workflows, and ensuring a policy of transparency throughout the department.

It is very important to have an Engineering Product-oriented mindset taking into account the most valuable goals in the company are delighting our customers and taking care of the Devos.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate team tasks creating a clear overview of the current workload and the roadmap helping the team and the POs prioritizing the team tasks.
  • Be the contact point for your team and ensure you shield your team from distractions while still keeping them informed of the priorities.
  • Be responsible for the growth and happiness of a team of diverse and talented software engineers with different levels of expertise.
  • Lead by example and motivate your team while bringing in new ideas on how to improve their way of working.
  • Lead & Support definition and execution goals (OKRs).
  • Establish a tight connection to other teams to unblock dependencies, providing visibility and transparency.
  • Contribute technically to projects by being a hands-on coder as necessary and removing roadblocks.
  • Evangelize, drive and continuously improve our agile methodologies for software development.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role working in a product-oriented IT company.
  • Experience at developing, mentoring and growing a team
  • Ability to motivate a team to achieve the defined vision and product objectives while balancing business priorities through collaboration with senior management
  • Exceptional communication (spoken/written) and presentation skills.
  • Goal-oriented minded, pragmatic vision and lean working methodology.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies.
  • Experience using JIRA as a product backlog management tool.
  • Ready to learn new things and share expertise.
  • Full English professional proficiency

Desired:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in cloud ecosystems and distributed components SaaS platforms.
  • Bilingual: Spanish + English is highly preferred.
