What you will find at the Barcelona Mobile World Congress

MWC-05-4107

From February 24th to the 27th the city of Barcelona will host the world’s greatest technology event: the 2014 Mobile World Congress (MWC).

The MWC is a combination of a cutting-edge product and technology exhibition, a conference programme featuring some of the most prominent executives in the mobile industry and a meeting point where professionals find industry opportunities, make deals and network. Wonder how great it is? The figures talk by themselves: 98.000 sqm of exhibition, 202 countries represented, 1700 exhibitors and more than 72.000 senior mobile professionals –including 4.300 CEOs and 57% of C-Level executives.

It’s not a surprise that 82% of the 2013 attendants considered it as the most important event in the mobile industry and 89% of them will be back this year.

Exhibition

Many leading companies use the MWC to present their new products. This year, Samsung has “practically” confirmed they will be launching their new Galaxy S5 in Barcelona and maybe even give us a glimpse of a smartphone running their own Tizen OS!! On the other hand, HTC will show their new HTC One Two and Nokia will hopefully present the Nokia X Normandy.

Also, apps have a prominent place in the App Planet, the Centre of the Mobile Apps Universe, where the mobile app community gather to learn, network and engage with innovators.
